THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE WORKING WITH A PRODUCER:
I have seen artist having a fall out with music PRODUCER'S for different reasons.
Here we've compiled tips that will help you aviod issues like a producer holding on to your music, you both not speaking after the project is done.
It's important to get clarity on certain things that'll affect your project regardless how well you know the producer or his recommendations.
The fact that a producer is a well known should not hold you back from asking questions, or that you dont want to upset the producer.

- Should a SPLITSHEET be signed after your the recording session?
- Will the producer get paid by the hour or by the project?
- Will the producer have any rights of ownership to the master recording, if so, on what grounds?
- Will the producer get any writer's share if he/she plays an instrument on the track or rearranges the song?
- Should you buy an exclusive or non exclusive rights to an instrumental before recording?
- Is the project MIX AND MASTER on a separate charge and who's paying who?
- How long before you get your final version? (Understand there maybe a bit setback so leave a bit of time to make sure you're satisfied with the mix and recording before it gets mastered).
